Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global will be held from 26 to 28 April
The world’s largest seafood trade fair arrives for the first time in Barcelona
Fira de Barcelona will host the 28th edition of Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global, the world’s most important seafood trade show, from 26 to 28 April. Coming from Brussels, it will be held for the first time in Barcelona, bringing together more than 1,500 exhibiting companies from 76 countries, further strengthening the positioning of the city and Fira as a venue for major international events.
Organised by Diversified Communications, Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global will become the sector’s largest international platform for three days: it will host 59 national and regional pavilions, occupying more than 39,500 m2 of net exhibition space at the Gran Via venue.
It will showcase the latest innovations in seafood products, such as fresh, frozen and canned products, as well as processing and packaging materials and equipment, supplies and quality control, as well as hygiene and sanitary services.
Venue for major food industry events
The General Manager of Fira de Barcelona, Constantí Serrallonga, emphasized: “we are very excited to host the first edition of the largest seafood industry show in Barcelona, which further strengthens Barcelona and Fira as a world venue for international events”. He said that the addition of Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global to Fira’s portfolio “places our institution at the epicentre of the food industry’s trade show calendar, joining other major events such as Alimentaria&Hostelco, Barcelona Wine Week and the Gastronomic Forum Barcelona”.
The Barcelona edition of Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global will have an estimated economic impact of 100 million euros and will mark the return to face-to-face business in the seafood sector. Liz Plizga, Vice President of Diversified Communications Group, said: “The trade show will have a very positive impact on the local economy and will bring together industry players, buyers and sellers of seafood products for three days to network, build business relationships, find new products and share discussions on new trends in the industry. All in one place”.

In addition to the exhibition area, Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global will include an extensive conference program to analyse the industry’s main challenges and showcase its latest innovations with the participation of more than 60 international experts.
