The world summit on smart cities will jointly organize a workshop on the connected future of cities
Smart City Expo and GSMA bring the full potential of smart cities to the Mobile Asia Expo 2014
Smart cities will be the protagonists not only of the world’s development in the next century but also of the GSMA’s 2014 Mobile Asia Expo. Smart City Expo World Congress, the global leading event for the smart cities sector, and GSMA, the association that unites nearly 800 of the world’s mobile operators with 250 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, have partnered to bring the full potential of connected cities to the leading Asian mobile focused event through a 1-day workshop.
The conference will tackle some of the key challenges cities are facing and how mobile technology is a key ally to solve many of the issues derived from growing urban populations, the need to make cities more efficient ecosystems, and the will to empower citizens. Among the topics that will be debated feature New Mobility Paradigms, Planning the Complex City, Resilience Strategies for Cities, Smarter Services for Smarter Citizens, and Apps and the City.
The sessions will highlight the initiatives and strategies undertaken by cities from around the globe who will explain their first-hand experiences in the transformation of the very fabric of their landscapes. Asian smart leaders like Shanghai (China), Seoul (South Korea) and Yokohama (Japan); , Seoul (South Korea), together with European benchmarks such as Amsterdam (Netherlands), Barcelona (Spain) and Copenhagen (Denmark) and other global trailblazers like Tel Aviv (Israel) and Medellin (Colombia) will share their expertise in the design and deployment of smart urban solutions.

The Smart City Workshop is a feature programme of Mobile Asia Expo and a follow up programme of the Smart City Expo World Congress, which is the global event for the smart cities sector. Cities from more than 80 countries around the world have their sights set on this congress in their search for new ideas and solutions for a new business ¿ the future of cities.
This has made it into the only smart cities event to bring together more than 300 speakers from all over the world, including world-renowned gurus that inspire minds and the people who spearhead change. The Smart City Expo World Congress provides the tools and activities to drive knowledge sharing, networking and the creation of business opportunities.
