Fira and government representatives host a delegation from the leading event in audio visual technology
Representatives of Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) visit Barcelona to prepare for ISE 2021
The organisers of Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), the world’s biggest trade fair for professional audio and video (AV) and electronic systems, are in Barcelona today with executives from leading businesses and companies to get to gain first-hand experience of the trade show venue and the city that will host the exhibition from 2021. More than 200 members of the delegation visited Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue where they met the Mayor of L’Hospitalet, Nuria Marin. They will be received this afternoon by the President of the Generalitat, Quim Torra, and the Mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, and other representatives of regional and local government.
Created in 2004, ISE is the world’s largest trade show in its field. In the course of its history, it has been held in Geneva, Brussels and, for the last eleven years, in Amsterdam. ISE 2018 had 1,296 exhibitors and 80,923 visitors. In two years’ time, Barcelona will become the permanent headquarters of ISE with the aim of continuing the development and growth of the event.
The main stage for ISE 2021 will be the Gran Via venue. It was at this venue that the Mayor of L’Hospitalet, Núria Marín, and the CEO of Fira de Barcelona, Constantí Serrallonga, today welcomed the delegation of 200 executives from more than 130 companies. The delegation includes the main brands exhibiting at ISE and the management team of Integrated Systems Events, the organising company which is owned by industry associations AVIXA and CEDIA.
During their tour of the pavilions, the ISE delegation saw the features, services and technical and logistical facilities of the venue. It is one of the most modern in Europe with a total exhibition area of 240,000m2, equipped with the latest trade fair management technology. The venue, due to be expanded in 2024, hosts major international events such as the Mobile World Congress, Alimentaria, Smart City Expo World Congress and Itma, the world’s largest textile industry trade show, which will take place in June this year. ISE will be held in Barcelona for the first time from 2nd to 5th February 2021.
After their visit to the venue, the delegation – led by Integrated Systems Events Managing Director, Mike Blackman, and accompanied by the Chairman of Fira de Barcelona, Pau Relat – will go to the Palau de la Generalitat to be received by Quim Torra, President of the Generalitat. They will then move on to Barcelona City Hall where the Mayor Ada Colau will welcome them.
The day will end with an event in the Casa Llotja de Mar attended by representatives of regional and local government.
