The challenges of cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, 3D printing and robotics, up for debate
INDUSTRY strengthens its commitment to knowledge by holding four conferences
INDUSTRY From Needs to Solutions increases its content offering and will strengthen the knowledge facet in this fourth edition. The event on Industry 4.0, organised by Fira de Barcelona, will include four high-level conferences which will discuss the challenges and opportunities available with the digital transformation of industry. Particular attention will be given to additive manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, and cybersecurity as well as automation and robotics.
With the aim of contributing to the digitalisation of industry and promoting the adoption of new digital technologies, this fourth edition of INDUSTRY From Needs to Solutions which will be held at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue from 29th to 31st October. It will incorporate four conferences with this year’s offering. These will consist of: Max, Barcelona Cyber Ethical Days, IN(3D)TALKS and Ayri11 which have already confirmed around 120 speakers with more than 70 sessions finalised.
According to Miquel Serrano, the event’s director, “INDUSTRY aims to be a platform for the dissemination of the major advantages offered by new manufacturing technologies in two ways. On the one hand, by exhibiting the main innovations in products and services for the industry. And on the other, through the direct guidance from companies who will share, first-hand, the benefits of becoming a connected industry.”
Business Cases, Network Security and 3D Printing
The main new feature of INDUSTRY will be the Max conference on advanced manufacturing that will focus on the specific benefits this technology provides. It is aimed at managers who are studying how to approach digital transformation in their companies.
The event, to be held on 30th and 31st October, will be structured around four subjects (efficiency, product, business and talent) and they will be organised through approximately 15 sessions. In these sessions, around 30 representatives from leading companies will present how connected industry enables higher levels of efficiency to be attained in industrial processes, logistics and in savings of resources. They will also deal with the emergence of intelligent products based on new materials; the creation of innovative, data-based business models; and the keys for the optimal adaptation of workers to the changes involved in digital transformation.
As regards Barcelona Cyber Ethical Days, which will be held from 29th to 31st October, its second edition will focus on cybersecurity in the industrial field. The event will include a conference, an exhibition area, workshops, a space for start-up companies, a talent market and networking activities, among others. Aimed at both managerial and technical personnel, the conference will be the core of this event, and it is planned to organise 40 talks with the participation of 60 speakers who will address topics such as cloud security, data protection in the health and finance sectors, quantum computing and 5G, as well as Cyber Intelligence.
For another year running, additive manufacturing will feature prominently in the INDUSTRY framework with IN(3D)TALKS providing a platform for companies using these new technologies; they will share how they are being implemented in their production processes as well as the challenges which have to be overcome.
IN(3D)TALKS will include around 20 representatives from companies from sectors such as aeronautics, medical, industrial, automotive and consumer goods. This content will be complemented by an innovation arena where not only 3D printed items and new printer models will be displayed, but also there will be a series of talks and workshops by the exhibiting companies available.
The field of knowledge of the fourth edition of INDUSTRY is completed with the Ayri11 event, a conference on industrial automation and robotics that debuted last year in Fira de Barcelona; it will include seminars, presentations and courses, set up to promote professional links between businesses and young talented people from universities and higher education and training.
The entire industrial value chain
Although the congress aspect will be a central part of the fourth edition of INDUSTRY, the event’s offering goes further by including an extensive exhibition area with companies representing industry sectors such as machine tools, which will be present every two years; plastic processing; automation and robotics; moulds and dies; new materials; connectivity and data as well as design and services that will demonstrate the main developments and applications of intelligent manufacturing. Additionally, the event will include various B2B programmes and actions so exhibitors can hold meetings with buyers from Spain and abroad.
