INDUSTRY From Needs to Solutions is preparing for the 2021 fair with more machinery in operation

The fifth edition of INDUSTRY From Needs to Solutions fair is revving up and planning to increase the space assigned to large-format machinery by 50%, with a total of 10,000 net m² of exhibition area. The event, which will be held from 23rd to 26th March 2021 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue, will include a large exhibition area hosting companies providing machine tools, connectivity and data, moulds and dies, plastic transformation, 3D printing, automation, robotics and new materials, as well as a knowledge space, an innovation arena and a business area.

Organised by Fira de Barcelona, INDUSTRY From Needs to Solutions, the fair devoted to industry 4.0, is being launched with the aim of bringing together the entire industrial value chain in order to contribute to the acceleration of the sector’s digital transformation. For this reason, the fair will bring together all the players in the field to enable them to showcase the latest technological solutions that are changing industry. The fair, which will be held in Pavilion 1 of the Gran Via venue, is expected to attract 150 firms and record a higher attendance than that of the previous event, when there were 9,000 visitors.

According to Miguel Serrano, the event’s director, “INDUSTRY From Needs to Solutions is Barcelona’s industrial fair and a flagship in southern Europe with a clear vocation of service to user companies in the digital transformation of industry, which aims to promote competitiveness by improving production processes through technology, providing real solutions for present-day and future industrial challenges.”

Apart from the exhibition area, which will host companies that produce machine tool, plastic transformers, moulds and dies, 3D printing, automation and robotics, among others, the event will be complemented by several experiential knowledge spaces, an innovation arena with presentations of advanced manufacturing applications and solutions and a networking area for meetings between companies and buyers.

3D printing at Equiplast
Before the fifth edition of INDUSTRY fair is held, one of its most successful areas, that of additive manufacturing, will showcase its innovations within the framework of Equiplast, the plastic and rubber exhibition organised by Fira de Barcelona from 2nd to 6th June 2020 at the Gran Via venue, alongside Expoquimia, the international chemical event, and Eurosurfas, the surface treatment fair.

This space will be located near the Smart Chemistry Smart Future area and the Rethinking Plastics project and will include products made from recycled plastic along with a recycling plant in operation. The range of products of the 3D printing companies will meet the requirements of three of Equiplast’s core focuses: the circular economy, digitalisation and technology transfer; as well as leading the adaptation of the industrial sectors to 3D technology and overcome the challenges facing the sector itself with regard to new materials and processes.
