Fira will host the European Cardiology Congress in 2017
In 2017 Fira de Barcelona will once again hold for the ESC Congress, a major medical and scientific event that attracts over 30,00 experts. It will take place from 30 August to 3 September at the Gran Via venue.
Organised by the European Society of Cardiology, Fira has previously hosted the event in 1992, 1999, 2009 and 2014, one of the best editions yet, according to ESC CEO Isabel Bardinet. Fira also hosted the 15th World Congress of Cardiology in 2006.
This 2014 edition brought together more than 30,000 specialists from 100 countries, 4,500 scientific studies were presented and 5,000 companies showing the latest advances in cardiology and surgery, imaging techniques and technological innovations also took part.
Fira’s facilities and capacity for organization, the Barcelona’s appeal and position in the field of health sciences are key factors in the event’s return to the city, which will benefit from great economic impact.
