Retail & Brand Experience will focus on the vast technological growth of the sector
Fira de Barcelona launches a new international event aimed at the retail sector
The present and future of the retail sector will be the focus of the first edition of the Retail & Brand Experience World Congress, a new international event organized by Fira de Barcelona that will bring together experts to discuss the digital transformation of a key sector in the economy. It will have an exhibition space with two hundred companies and start-ups from around the world.
Retail & Brand Experience, which will be held from 27 to 29 May, 2019 in Pavilion 2 of the Gran Via exhibition centre, will bring together the industry leaders and the leading experts and players in this sector of activity in a single space with an emphasis on how to develop and expand the new wave of technological innovation and the potential opportunities it offers. The new event will bring together the entire ecosystem of the digital transformation of the sector, in order to connect the developers of the latest technological solutions with the main players in online sales, physical stores, major brands and retail companies.
Salvador Tasqué, Core Business Director of Fira de Barcelona has highlighted that: “Retail & Brand Experience World Congress aims to be a global event in the transformation of the business model of brands and retail and to turn Barcelona into a leader in this field as it also is in the case of smart cities and the Internet of Things through the Smart City Expo World Congress and the IoT Solutions World Congress, respectively”. He added that “the city is creative, capable of capturing technological investment and becoming, at the same time, a laboratory for trying out new trends and presenting innovation in this sector to consumers”.
Inspiration, technology and innovation
The congress, which is the hub of the event, will have internationally prominent and influential speakers and experts and will be based on technology, logistics, consumer experience, new business models and the latest trends applied to the large vertical markets of retail: fashion, department stores and shopping centres, consumer goods, electronics, luxury items, furniture and home, pharmaceuticals, beauty and banking, as well as a space for pure e-tailers.
Another feature of the event will be an innovation area that will bring together the best global start-ups connected with the future of retail. The space will have an exhibition area, a pitch corner and a networking area.
Furthermore, some of the most innovative technological and digital companies will participate in the congress’ exhibition area: banking, financial and payment services, large technology companies, large digital players, new disruptive technology companies in retail and consulting firms. Similarly, the city will also be one of the major players of the event with field trips around Barcelona to discover the latest innovations in its main business sectors and an intense social agenda to promote networking within the new retail ecosystem.
