Fira de Barcelona replans the calendar of its upcoming events

Given the current situation and after the latest measures imposed by the authorities, Fira de Barcelona has replanned the calendar of the upcoming events in its venues to maintain most of the initially scheduled activity and try to hold the shows in the best possible conditions in an environment that is expected to be more favorable. The B-Travel show, the Valmont Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (VBBFW) and Expoquimia, among others, originally planned for the next weeks or months, will now be relocated on other the calendar from June onwards.

The B-Travel show, focused on experience tourism, scheduled for the weekend of March 27 to 29, is postponed to June 19 to 21 at the Montjuïc venue, a decision that has been taken with the support of the industry. The event brings together more than 200 exhibitors, among which are all the Spanish Autonomous Communities and representatives from over 40 countries and regions, travel agencies, and transportation companies, among others.

The Valmont Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, originally planned from April 20 to 26, will now take place from June 8 to 14 at the Montjuic venue. The leading bridal fashion show expects to celebrate its 30th anniversary with the participation of large national and international brands and young designers.

Retail & Brand Experience World Congress, an event specialized in the transformation of retail and the new role of brands, which was scheduled for May 12 to 14, will be held at the Gran Via venue between the 17 and 19 of November, together with Smart City Expo World Congress and Smart Mobility, benchmark events in mobility, smart cities and urban solutions.

The first edition of BforPlanet, event focused on promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals across all industries and companies, will change its dates, from May 26 to 28, to September 22 and 23 at the Montjuïc venue. Bizbarcelona, the show for entrepreneurship and SMEs, initially scheduled on May 27 and 28, has been postponed to July 8 and 9.

As for Expoquimia, Eurosurfas and Equiplast, the three events in the chemical, surface treatment and plastic sectors, planned for June 2 to 6, 2020 at the Gran Via venue, will also have their dates altered and will take place from December 1 to 5, after the measure was agreed with the main representatives of each of these industries.

Assessment of the situation
Likewise, as it was recently announced, the Saló de l’Ensenyament, which had to take place from March 18 to 22, will be finally held on dates yet to be agreed with the Departament d’Educació and the Secretariat d’Universitats, of the Departament d’Empresa i Coneixement. Futura, the Saló de l’Ocupació Juvenil (organized by the Barcelona City Council) and the Fira d’Empreses Simulades, which are also part of the Setmana de la Formació i l’Ocupació, where more than 270 universities and training centers showcase the new academic offerings for the 2020-2021 term, are also postponed.

In line with the decision made a few weeks ago to move Alimentaria and Hostelco from April to September, Fira de Barcelona postpones and relocates its shows, due to the current situation and with the prospect of being able to hold these events of such importance to their respective industries in dates and circumstances expected to be more favorable, thus ensuring maximum activity and opportunities for exhibitors and visitors. In this sense, the institution works to prepare the best possible editions, closely following the evolution of the situation generated by COVID-19 and in accordance with the instructions of the authorities.

In addition, Fira de Barcelona wants to express its solidarity and support for the work of all health professionals as well as the members of other public and essential services facing the serious situation we are experiencing.
