Fira de Barcelona cooperates with Nutrición sin Fronteras
Within the framework of its corporate social responsibility, Fira de Barcelona cooperates with institutions which conduct charitable activities. This is the case of Nutrición sin Fronteras. Throughout 2017, the institution donated more than one tonne of the surplus food production generated during its fairs to the charity.
In total, Fira de Barcelona donated 1,137 kg of food, benefiting 2,842 people at risk of social exclusion.
The NGO awarded a diploma to Fira in appreciation of its commitment to social initiatives and the reduction of food waste. The partnership grew by 172% in 2017 in comparison with 2016 as a result of the significant fair-related activity last year.
In addition to Nutrición sin Fronteras, the institution cooperates with other social entities and institutions, such as the Banco de Alimentos, Cáritas, Cuina Justa, the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, the Marató on TV3, the Factor Humà Foundation and the Barcelona Magic Line, related to the Sant Joan de Déu Foundation.
